The Bulgarian Socialist Party has denied that its leader Sergey Stanishev named two nominees for the 2010 Presidential Elections saying his words were misconstrued by the media.

Speaking on Friday, the leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and former Prime Minister, Sergey Stanishev, mentioned two possible party nominations for the 2011 presidential elections – Ivaylo Kalfin and Stefan Danailov.

Kalfin is a former Foreign Minister, and now Member of the European Parliament, Danailov is a top Bulgarian movie and theater star and a BSP Member of the Parliament.

According to the statement of the party headquarters, Stanishev's exact words were, "For me to shoot out now some names that are usually circulating, which is natural, as possible nominees – Stefan Danailov, Ivaylo Kalfin – would be just too early."
